Isabel Loughran is a ceramic artist from Dublin, born in 1996. She graduated from The National College of Art & Design in 2019, with a BA Honours International Degree in Fine Art, in the pathway of Ceramics. Since then she has completed an internship in the contemporary throwing studio Diem Pottery, in Ashbourne. Isabel has also been a part of her first post-college exhibition named ‘In The Age of Conscious Makers’ in the NCAD Gallery in Dublin. Her ceramic sculptures feed the senses, primarily touch and hearing, whilst being visually intriguing and ambiguous. Her motivation lies within her belief, that embodiment is a powerful antidote against the anxieties felt in everyday modern life. The sensation of being inside one’s own body and in the same moment in the external world, is the feeling Isabel wants the viewer to experience while in contact with the work.
